Our Strategic Plan

I. Become “A Pillar and Buttress of Truth” (1 Tim. 4.15) through a faithful, full-orbed ministry of the Word of God, evidenced by—

Biblically-faithful governance, guarding the deposit of sound doctrine;
Intentional efforts to regulate every aspect of the life and ministry of Christ Church according to the Word of God;
Intentional efforts to help all members of Christ Church achieve biblical literacy and basic doctrinal knowledge, and to increase in knowledge continually;
Intentional efforts to expand and extend the preaching and teaching ministries of Christ Church by way of media, small groups, conferences, seminars, Sunday and weekday Bible study classes, the arts, education, publishing, and more;
Intentional efforts to apply biblical truth to Christian living through small group ministry, biblical counsel, discipleship, marriage and family life, and more;
The exercise of church discipline aimed at loving restoration.
II. Reclaim God-centered, Spirit-filled worship as the first priority of the people of God, guided by a clearly articulated biblical philosophy of worship, and including, among other things,

Thorough, serious, and prayerful preparation for every service of worship;
Intentional efforts to develop and utilize our best gifts and talents as an offering to God in our worship;
Intentional efforts to incorporate the great traditions of the church in worship, as well as contemporary forms that are biblically sound and artistically excellent;
High standards of excellence in every aspect of worship leadership;
Worship and teaching facilities that reflect the excellencies of God;
Clear and consistent teaching on the theology and practice of worship.
III. Build up the body of Christ in love by practicing biblical koinōnia through ministries of maturity, counsel, equipping, serving, and reconciling, guided by a clearly articulated biblical philosophy of edification, and including, among other things,

High standards of church membership, and intentional efforts to ensure a regenerate membership, taught to observe all things commanded by Christ;
Small group ministries;
Ministries that foster Christian thinking, Christian growth, Christian lifestyle, and that strengthen marriages, strengthen families, and develop character;
“Family Integrated” congregational life;
The practice of prayer;
Intentional efforts to equip laypersons for ministry and engage them in ministry;
Intentional efforts to “preserve the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace” (Eph. 4.3) in every aspect of church life;
The exercise of church discipline aimed at loving restoration;
Ministries of biblical counsel to help troubled persons;
Intentional efforts to cultivate a grace-filled community of believers.
IV. Live out the mission of God passionately, sacrificially, personally, locally, and globally, guided by a clearly articulated biblical philosophy of mission, and including, among other things,

Partnerships with one or more cross-cultural missions;
Adoption of an unreached people-group;
At least five percent of our membership on short-term mission every year;
Intentional focus on missions through regular services of worship, missions conferences, reports from member missions, and more;
Intentional efforts to involve every member of Christ Church personally in mission at some level;
A church plant within five years either in North America or overseas;
A commitment to “Ministry Evangelism,” sharing Christ by meeting needs;
Seeking “the welfare of the city” through loving acts of service, loving moral confrontation, and loving political engagement;
Lay-led missions;
Strategies to reach young people, young adults, and the “up-and-out,” as populations most often neglected in contemporary evangelism and discipleship;
Generous giving and simple lifestyles for the sake of mission;
Ten percent undesignated giving to missions through the SBC Cooperative Program; and
The constant, consistent, Spirit-filled cultivation of passion for the cross and passion for the lost.
