Mid-Week Memo

April 16, 2025

This Friday, April 18th, we will have our Good Friday Service at noon. We will begin with a time of worship to be followed by a luncheon. We are asking that you bring a salad or bars/cookies.

This coming Sunday, April 20th, we will celebrate Easter at Christ Church beginning with a brunch at 9:00 am to be followed by a special Easter Worship Service at 10:15 am. For the brunch we ask that you bring either cut up fruit or an egg casserole which is ready to serve.

This will be the last Sunday to receive our Annie Armstrong Easter Missions Offering. Be sure to invite your family, neighbors, and friends to join us. Our evening Bible Study will be dismissed.

Looking Ahead in April

April 24-26

Christ Church will host the Dakota Baptist Convention 2025 Evangelism Workshop. All are welcome to attend. There are copies of the workshop schedule at the back of the auditorium, along with a sign-up sheet if you plan to attend the evening meals.
 

April 27th

We will end the month by having our ‘Family Worship Service’ in the morning and continue our study in Genesis at 6:30 pm.


May

The month of May brings more spring and more warmth. May leads into the celebration of Mother’s Day, graduations, Memorial Day, and the beginning of summer. Listed below are the events and opportunities at Christ Church each Sunday in May.

May 4th

We will have our church-wide Fellowship Meal following our morning Worship Service. Our evening Bible Study will be dismissed.


May 11th

We will celebrate Mother’s Day by recognizing our mothers during the morning Worship Service. Our evening Bible Study will be dismissed.


May 18th

Wayne Titus will be preaching in my absence. Cindy and I will be in Grand Forks that weekend for our granddaughter's graduation from the University of North Dakota. We will continue our evening Bible Study in Genesis.


May 25th

We will celebrate Memorial Day weekend by observing the Lord’s Supper at the end of our morning Worship Service. Our evening Bible Study will be dismissed.

Saturday, May 10th

The Black Hills Pregnancy Center is having a ‘Walk 5K Run for Life’ fundraising event. Check in is at 9:00 am at the Old Storybook Island Shelter with a start time of 10:00 am. All proceeds benefit the Black Hills Pregnancy Center’s client services and Earn While You Learn Program. For additional information go to www.BHPCpartners.org or call 605-341-4477.


Sunday, June 8th – Thursday June 12th

Christ Church will have Vacation Bible School. Be watching for more information about this exciting time for our church and how you can be involved.


Coming Sunday Evenings in June and July

We are planning a special 6-week study called
6 Strategies to Make the Most of the 4th Quarter of Life. Jim Dickey from Nashville Tennessee and First Baptist Hendersonville, Tennessee will be leading this study which will begin Sunday, June 22nd and run through Sunday July 27th at 6:30 pm each evening. Books will be available and you will be challenged to implement 6 things in your walk with God that can enhance your life today. We will follow this study with some ministry and mission opportunities that everyone can participate in. Plan to be a part of this study.
